Darelle Porter is the Executive Director of a community organization located in Pittsburgh, PA.  Ozanam, Inc. helps the boys and girls of Western Pennsylvania develop into responsible young adults through positive developmental training, including educational programming, athletic competition, social and cultural activities and exchanges and academic support services. Darelle is a former Duquesne University NCAA Division I head basketball coach, a University of Pittsburgh graduate and the recipient of the University’s Panther Outstanding Achievement Award.

Jan has a long history of being very passionate about the education of students with disabilities and “making life work” for folks with disabilities.  She has held a professional Ohio license in Elementary education (1-8) as well as Education of the Handicapped –MH/OH (K-12); she also has many years of experience in higher education, both teaching, as well as running service programs. She truly enjoys mentoring and coaching students and new teachers in understanding and believing that they can help people with disabilities be successful and make life work. 

 

Specific areas of interest: assistive technology, transition services, family and professional collaboration, as well as traumatic brain injury.

Steve Fronk is the Owner and Executive Director of a Residential Care Facility in Lisbon, Ohio. Personal Touch Retirement is licensed by the State of Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services Board. Steve is affiliated with the Ohio Adult Care Facilities Association and is a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Prior to his experience in Mental Health, Steve was in the financial industry for nearly fifteen years. Steve is married to his wife, Heather Fronk, of ten years and has two children, Taylor and Brooklyn.

Mr. Shivers education consists of a Bachelor of Art degree from Youngstown State University in the field of Communications, with a Minor in Black/ Africana Studies.  He holds a Master’s Degree in American History along with a Master’s Certificate in Historic Preservation.  Additionally, Mr. Shivers has an Ohio Education Work Study Teaching Certificate from Bowling Green State University.

 

Mr. Shivers worked as an Adjunct Professor for Youngstown State University for 10 years and as a Career and Technical Educator for The Youngstown City Schools where he performed educational work service with AmeriCorps KEYS (Knowledge and Education through Youth Service) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

Mr. Shivers is an Academic Advisor for the Youngstown Lifeguard Academy, and an Artist in Residency with the SMARTS School of the Arts in Youngstown, Ohio teaching photography. Formally Mr. Shivers was a member of the State Academic Distress Committee for the Youngstown City Schools.
